Class Changing
More actions
In order to change your class on Avardon requires you to go through a process of becoming a commoner and then training into a new class, via player mentors. This is entirely without any staff involvement necessary, this process is different from Retraining
Becoming a Commoner
If you are of any other class, you may become a Commoner by finding a sculpture behind a temple near Livarun. There, you can make a sacrifice in exchange for boon of being able to quickly train into something else should you wish to do so. You can also simply remain a Commoner. But what sacrifice are you making to this mysterious force? You have to give up what defines you (be it faith, oath, connection to nature, your skills, or something else), you also have to pay 150 Silver Coins and a full charge of Profession Energy (6, or 12 if you are changing from Commoner into another subclass of Commoner).
After paying the price, you will be teleported into spawn, where you can go through the process of changing into your selected Commoner subclass with Seymour. Make sure to follow the in-game instructions. Congratulations, now you're a mere peasant!
Training Sessions
Maybe you've just become or already was a Commoner. Do you desire to change into a different class now? You'll need to find a mentor, or even multiple mentors, if you're in a rush or want to spice things up. Every training session is at least 1 hour long roleplay scene during which you're learning the ways of the class you're going to change into. The nature of this training can range from theory to combat, it is up to you and your mentor to make it fun. Naturally, most sessions will take far longer than 1 hour and that's more than fine, the duration is just a mechanical minimum. You may participate in one training session every 20 hours, every session will cost you 4 profession energy, and you need to go through 5 sessions in total with someone of the target class. They do not need to match the subclass you want to change into.
Should you decide in the middle of your training that the class you are training for is just not it and you want to do something else? That's no problem. Simply find a mentor of the different class and you can start over. You won't even lose the previous progress, if you change your mind again, as long as it's before you change your class.
Mentoring
Do you want to be a mentor and help others learn the skills of your character? Anyone can do that! Just find some eager student, hold E on them, select Avardon RP > Actions > Start Training. You will also need 4 profession energy, unless you have the Mentor trait, in which case you only use 1 energy and can therefore train even multiple students at once. After one hour, you will finish the training in the same way. If you don't see the button, it means the player is not a Commoner, either of you is lacking the profession energy, or they are still on their cooldown. At the end of the training, both of you will see how many sessions the player is on. Try to make it interesting, focus on different areas of your class with each session.
Finalizing Class Training
And so you've gone through 5 sessions of training! Now what? Report to Ahit on Livarun's training grounds. She will check your progress and let you choose a subclass. Once you lock in your decision, you will be teleported into spawn and Seymour will take care of the rest. Follow the in-game instructions and you're done. There's no need to open any tickets, everything is fully automated and even updated in your whitelist.
